Course Information
This 3 day workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of supporting clients with vision loss for speech pathologists. This workshop will provide speech pathologists with an understanding of how low vision and blindness, and strategies to support clients from birth through to school. The workshop will be offered in-person at our North Rocks facility, and online over Zoom, and is presented by our experienced NextSense team.
Content includes:
- Introduction to vision loss and eye conditions
- Vision assessments and reading eye reports
- An introduction to Cortical Vision Impairment
- Intervention strategies for communication development
- Strategies for working with babies and infants
- Preschool and school considerations
- Supporting parents
- Technology supports including AAC and braille readers
- Case Study Analysis
