Timothy Makeham

Dr Makeham is a Canberra-based otolaryngologist and ENT surgeon renowned for his surgical techniques and skill.

Dr Makeham has an ENT practice co-located with NextSense in Canberra. He is the lead surgeon for cochlear implantation at Canberra Hospital and also works at Calvary John James Hospital and Canberra Private Hospital.

Dr Makeham completed his degrees in Economics and Engineering at the Australian National University before undertaking a postgraduate medical degree at Flinders University in South Australia. He attained his Fellowship in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010.

He established image guidance rhinological surgical techniques within the ACT and is a member of the Australasian Rhinological Society and the multidisciplinary anterior skull base surgical team at The Canberra Hospital, coordinating care for people with head and neck cancer.

Dr Makeham is also the Surgical Supervisor of Otolaryngology training in ACT and is actively involved in the training of medical students from the Australian National University and, through his affiliation with the John James Foundation, the training of medical students from the James Cook University.
