This webinar will discuss identity as it relates adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing . Recent research will be reviewed that outlines how teenagers define their identity, with particular emphasis on how teenagers’ d/Deaf identity fits into their concept of themselves. Other identity formation factors addressed include the influence of family, school and peers. The practical application of this research will be highlighted with a focus on helping teenagers to engage with their own d/Deaf identity.
