Course Information

At the completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Talk in more detail about holidays, the weather and the seasons
  • Talk about everyday life including work and family
  • Talk about hobbies, interests and other activities
  • Use non-manual features to express yourself
  • Use more advanced visual-gestural communication strategies

This 7 week ONLINE course provides participants with an opportunity to build on the foundations that they learned in Auslan 1. Each week, participants will be sent a video of Auslan signs to learn ready for the 1.5-2 hour interactive webinar which will provide an opportunity to consolidate and rehearse the signs in games and activities. Commencement date 31 March and run every Wednesday between 4-6pm AEDT until 12 May. The Auslan Assessment will follow between 12:30-5pm on the 12 May and you need to register separately for this.

This course is being provided by the NSW Deaf Society.

This event has been accredited by NESA until 31 July 2021. It provides 15 hours for the Proficient Career Stage for the following Standards: 1.1.2, 1.2.2, 1.3.2, 1.4.2, 1.5.2, 1.6.2, 2.6.2, 3.2.2, 3.3.2, 3.4.2, 3.6.2, 4.1.2, 4.4.2, 4.5.2, 5.1.2, 5.2.2, 5.3.2, 5.4.2, 6.2.2, 6.2.6, 6.3.2, 6.4.2, 7.4.2. It meets the priority area of Students/ children with disability.
