We pay tribute to Norman Rydge AM OBE, who passed away on Sunday 16 January. Norman was 93 years old.

Over 32 years Norman served on the NextSense Board with great distinction. He joined the board in 1977, when we were known as RIDBC, and brought a wealth of experience in corporate management and governance, in addition to his legal training. Norman was Chairman of various board committees, a Vice President, President for 14 years and appointed Vice Patron on 24 June 2009.

Norman was appointed a Life Governor in 1986 in recognition of his significant contribution to our organisation, not only with his knowledge and expertise, but also through his family’s generous philanthropy. I was fortunate to have served on the board with Norman for nine years.

NextSense Chief Executive Chris Rehn says, ‘it’s with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our beloved past President, Norman B Rydge. We will remember Norman not only for his incredible generosity and great leadership over the decades, but as a true friend, gentleman and beautiful human being.’
