Last month, some of our lucky NextSense students were invited to personally greet Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, when she arrived in Kirribilli as part of her three-day visit to Australia.

The students were excited to meet a real-life princess and did an amazing job answering her questions in both Auslan and spoken English.

Our Royal connection goes back to 1957, when her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II honored NextSense, formerly the Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind Children, by conferring the prefix “Royal” in our title.

‘We were eager to come tonight because it was an opportunity to meet someone from the Royal family and we know their past connection with NextSense. We have had such a great experience with NextSense, they are like a second family, I don't know what we would do without them,’ said Layla, mother of Samir, who has been a NextSense client since he was a baby and now attends the NextSense School.
