Dr Daron Cope

Dr Daron Cope is an adult and paediatric ENT surgeon and expert in nose, sinus and ear disease, with an interest in regional and under-serviced communities.


Dr Cope graduated from Medical School at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2001. After working in Cape Town for a few years, Dr Cope migrated to Australia and started general surgical training in Sydney before completing his Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgical training.

After becoming a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), Dr Cope completed formal post-specialty fellowship training at Guys and St Thomas Hospital in London and visiting fellowships in Canada and Paris. This resulted in a high level of expertise and experience in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland pathology, and head and neck cancer management.

Dr Cope joined Hunter ENT in 2016. He has participated in the Pacific Islands Project to provide ENT care to residents of Kiribati, and is actively involved in teaching medical students, surgical trainees and allied medical staff. He prides himself on his compassion and empathy, treating all patients like family members and making decisions in consultation with patients.
