The newest member of the NextSense Board—Professor Susan Morton—is a passionate advocate for child and family wellbeing.
Professor Morton is a practising public health physician and life course epidemiologist, and the inaugural Research Director at INSIGHT – a pan-university health research institute at the University of Technology Sydney.
She established and led the cross-disciplinary Centre for Longitudinal Research at the University of Auckland. She was also the Foundation Director of Growing Up in New Zealand, the country’s largest longitudinal study of children and families.
Professor Morton completed her medical training in Auckland before moving to London to undertake a PhD in epidemiology and population health. Her research has informed local and national policies and cross-sectoral strategies to improve family and child wellbeing from before birth.
