- Hearing
Loud Shirt Day is just around the corner on Friday 17 October – a day where anyone can raise funds or donate to NextSense to support children with hearing loss.
Loud Shirt Day is a national day where Australians get behind organisations providing vital services for children who are deaf of hard of hearing. By choosing to support our work you can make a real difference to children and families.
Individuals, organisations and groups have already signed up to run a Loud Shirt Day fundraiser for the children NextSense supports.
You can join their campaign – or start your own. It’s easy – just follow the instructions on our Loud Shirt Day page to register or simply donate to one of the existing fundraising efforts listed on our page.
By joining the loudest party of the year and wearing your wackiest shirt you’ll help raise awareness as well as funds.
Get loud and empower children to meet their goals and access crucial early intervention therapy. Children like Emily, age nine (pictured), who lost her hearing suddenly three years ago due to meningitis and received cochlear implants in both ears to help her re-gain access to sound.
Emily's got lots of people in her corner. Along with her family, friends, itinerant support teacher and school community, Emily’s is supported by her NextSense audiologist and speech pathologist, who are helping her learn to interpret the new sounds through her cochlear implants.
Don’t forget, if you want to hold an event after 17 October, you still can. You can get LOUD on any day that suits you right up until the end of December.
