Message from Chief Executive Chris Rehn

NextSense CEO Chris Rehn in a white shirt in his office

As we reach the end of 2022, it’s a good time to reflect on the achievements of our cochlear implant clients, and the dedicated team that work to support them. Throughout the year, we heard and shared many stories of the lives of our clients and their achievements.

Including 86-year-old Grace from outback NSW who attended her 100th mapping session with us this year, and 19-year-old Ruby, who was our 1000th cochlear implant client when she received her first implant at eight months.

The need for implantable hearing devices continues to grow. Since we began our pioneering work in cochlear implants, we have provided services for more than 7000 cochlear implant surgeries. We have also supported many more people at earlier stages in their journey before surgery.

We have now started welcoming new clients in Victoria, with our full suite of cochlear implant services now being offered at our Blackburn and Moonee Ponds centres. As we look towards 2023, we’re excited to support more people in more locations, work with our clients to meet their goals, advance the field forward through our contribution to research and best practice, and hear many more wonderful stories of success from our clients.
