We started weekly sessions. Early intervention sessions at NextSense and from the sessions, I was able to understand more about hearing loss and the best way to communicate with Leon.

Getting cochlear implants was actually basically just to give him all the possible options for his communication, when he is ready to make his own decision. I think we had multiple meetings with the NextSense teams, and we were given all the information about the process, possible benefits, and limitations as well.

So when he started attending preschool, we could tell from his facial expressions in the morning, he was ready to go to school. He looked very happy. He was looking forward to meeting his friends at school and He was very excited to tell me what happened at preschool and also what he learnt

We chose NextSense School because we knew that was the right place for him. I think because we've been working with NextSense teams already, a lot of staff here at NextSense knew his needs and where he's up to.

I'm very proud every morning when I see him getting ready to go to school.

Leon's first signname. Was this meaning cheeky. So he was very cheeky. Happy little boy. He played. He loves to play with other people. He loves to communicate with other people. And having that, opportunities to sign and speak, gave him opportunity to interact with other people

I see in Leon is very creative and clever boy he loves drawing. He loves building Legos. And he, can be very imaginative. I can see he enjoys learning and he is confident

No matter no matter what he wants to be in the future, I want him to be as happy as he is now
